Growth in business must be planned. The way a business system or business plan is set up is rather regimental and does not allow for any growth in the future, or very little, if it does. Growth must absolutely be planned for, otherwise it cannot take place.

And, if growth cannot take place in your business, the orders will roll in but you will not have enough manpower or systems in place to deal with them, or your business will be ready to grow, but you will have prevented it from bringing in any more money than it did last year, which is not a good thing if inflation and the economy make growth pretty much necessary.

By placing your trust in the inevitability of change, by expecting it but not forcing it, you will...

A lot of what makes people believe in someone or something is the confidence which that person inspires in those people. In many cases, people find that a cause or a strong leader is enough upon which to rest their hopes, desires, and strengths. There is a belief, there is a faith, in what is going on around them or in who they are listening to. That means that, if you are able to inspire this confidence in other people, you will be able to bring about this same transformation and this same dependency upon your own business when it comes to products or services.

As much as some people may complain about the “powers that be,” those powers would not have that authority without it being given to them by the same...

When you do something every day, it doesn’t just become a habit where it bothers you or irritates you if you don’t do it in the future. When you do something every day, it becomes part of your world, and the effect of it builds up over time. For example, let’s say that you begin to read a really large college textbook. It is huge and it is bulky and it may seem as if you will never get through it. If, however, you read ten pages of it every day, you will be completely through it in a month or less.

Daily actions compound upon themselves and create really informative and revealing facts about the person who is doing the actions. Alcohol and drug testing may seem as if it doesn’t have to be that...

When you are about to journey on a new horizon, oh man, the future can look like an endless field of possibilities. And this is true!

Exciting new prospects present themselves in every form to those of us with vision and determination, and all of us can cultivate this eagerness to succeed and move forward every day. Imagine for just a minute that you have really high motivation. Well, I’m betting that it is not due to some urgent need to get things done or some emergency situation. Instead, you are probably excited by clear, unbroken paths before you. Everything looks green and growing and scented and colorful. There is beauty that soaks right through your skin and saturates your soul. The horizon looks unending,...

Peace is kind of subjective, if you think about it. What seems peaceful to some people is boring to others, and what seems relaxing to some people is far too exciting or physically taxing to others. And, as for peace of mind, we all have various priorities, and so we all achieve peace of mind in various ways: financial acumen, income, family, loving relationships, children, parents, etc. So, even if the world agreed on peace instead of war, it would be less than likely to occur, because we all have different ideas of what peace looks like and feels like.

If any of you study meditation, then you know how important it is to draw energy and mindfulness from deep within yourself. And, if you have studied and practiced...

Have you ever worked with someone of whom you were afraid? Have you ever been in that position before? It can fill you with dread just to think about earning your livelihood around them. It can make you afraid of them and worry what will happen to you if you spend too much time around them. This is mostly due to inconsistency in coworkers, in their personality and ways of dealing with various people, and it can also be due to a violent or unstable temper showing through.

Dangerous coworkers can be, and at the very least seem, just as dangerous as a substance abusing spouse. You never know what you will get. You never know what you will get, and so your body, endorphins, brain chemicals, etc. are programmed to...

Have you ever climbed a mountain? Okay, there may not be many of you. Let’s ask a simpler question. Have you ever been close enough to a mountain to look at its barren rock face and truly see that there are places where there are no trees? There are places visible on mountains on postcards for goodness sake.

Barren rock seems to be desert to many eyes. It’s so tough, and unyielding in many ways. However, it will yield to both tree and stream of water. Water carves out rock into whatever shape it deems good and right, and trees clutch onto rock with their roots, burrowing deeper and deeper into the rock face. Even a small, delicate vine, through small exertion of force, pushes against the stone wall of an...

When you have kids or are around kids a lot, you often hear the phrases, “Now, say you’re sorry,” and “Fine. I’m Sorrr-eeee.” It’s not real and everyone knows it. Even when followed by, “Say it like you mean it,” it doesn’t come across right and the child doing the apology obviously is not learning very much.

As adults, we have to remember some of these things, too. If you never learned how to properly apologize to someone as a kid, how much better can you be at it as an adult? Often, we just have to keep making mistakes until we get the “feel” of it down right. For that reason, it is often a preferred method to just let it go and try to figure out your own special way of apologizing.

But, it...

Whether or not you are Marxist or anything like that, you can appreciate that there is something fundamentally whole about working for your food, such as gardening or killing and preparing meat. There is a wholeness and a completeness to it which appeals to our sense of direction and purpose. We feel connected with the earth, with our primal ancestors, when we have things like fresh killed meat, fresh caught fish, and fruit and vegetables ripe from the garden or our fruit trees.

Political ideals may make a big deal out of this utopian idea, but the truth is that most people have this picture in their mind when they think about what they will do with their home, family and generations in their daydreams. It is...

A hundred years ago, the mind and attitude of an intellectual was slightly different than it is today. Today, things come so easily to all of us that we find it difficult to use out intellect like we would use our muscles, and that is equivalent to the way intellectuals a hundred years ago used their mental prowess. To study was to labor, as if in a field, because the mind while not being classified as a muscle, still develops and increases its neurons based upon how much it learns over time. So, the mind builds itself as you learn more.

Intellectuals back in the day understood this phenomenon. They understood that they bore a responsibility as relevant members of their society. They did not consider...
